Researching a property
Before buying a property you will want to research some general information to inform your decision.
Zoning, area and constraints
You will need to find out the property’s zoning (sometimes called area classification) and other development constraints. This information helps you find out:
what you are able to use the property for under Brisbane’s planning rules
about its development potential
Brisbane City Council (BCC)
Find out the key facts about the property (zoning, area and constraints) and then you can find out what approvals would be required for common residential and business projects. You can also download a free Floodwise Property Report and use the interactive Flood Awareness Maps to identify the flood risk for a property.

(2) Click on "Interactive Mapping"
(3) Accept the licence
(4) A web GIS app should load up. When it loads up, expand "Aerial
Imagery" on the left sidebar, then tick "Aerial Photography 1946".

Property Enquiry is an excellent starting place to browse and navigate the information available on a specific property. Property Enquiry searches may be performed on any property within the Gold Coast City Council's jurisdiction. Search results will include information specific to that property where applicable.

There are two search options available to obtain flood information relevant to a particular property in the Ipswich local government area.
